Auxiliary Housing

The University Auxiliary Housing department provides assistance with various housing options, resources, and services for graduate students, incoming faculty and staff, and visiting scholars.

Available Auxiliary Housing

First-year graduate students are offered a limited number of Auxiliary-Housing managed apartments located on College Hill, ranging in size from studio apartments to four-bedroom apartments and houses.
Housing for Brown faculty and staff is available on a first-come, first-served basis. The rental terms are a minimum of 6 months and a maximum of 1 year (with the possibility of a 1-year renewal).
If you are a visiting scholar in need of housing, the Auxiliary Housing department can assistance in your search for on-campus housing.

Resources and Services

The Off-Campus Partners site helps Brown students, faculty, and staff locate local rental properties and connect with potential roommates.
Brown has a preferred relationship with Residential Properties to provide corporate relocation services to incoming Brown staff and faculty, assisting with their property purchases and related relocation information/resources.

Short-term Accommodations

The Auxiliary Housing department provides housing accommodations to incoming faculty, staff, and visiting scholars on a short-term basis. All housing is located on College Hill.

  • Visiting scholar housing requires a minimum rental term commitment of 14 days.
  • Incoming faculty and staff housing requests should be directed to Tina Thompson, Assistant Director of Auxiliary Housing. Rental terms for faculty/staff housing: minimum of 6 months; maximum of 12 months.
